At Woolhampton, we are very fortunate to have our very our Forest School right on our doorstep. Research shows that taking part in forest school enables children to develop their independence, self-esteem and resilience. During their time at forest school, the children have a go at a variety of practical skills such as fire lighting, den building, tree cutting, whittling and campfire cooking. Through play and exploration, the children are encouraged to take safe risks and achieve things that may not possible within the classroom. Forest school is also used to enhance the curriculum, providing the ideal opportunity to learn through hands-on, practical experiences.
All classes from Foundation to year 6, take part regularly in forest school.
